Path of Miracles
The stunning Path of Miracles, by contemporary British composer Joby Talbot, took listeners on a journey through northern Spain and the four staging posts along the Camino trail: Roncesvalles, Burgos, Léon, and Santiago. Walked annually by over 200,000 people from around the world, this pilgrimage route traces the footsteps of St James, the first Christian martyr and one of Jesus's disciples. Talbot's beautiful music, set for 17-part SATB choir and crotales (a bell-like percussion instrument) weaves together expressive vocal writing with text by Robert Dickinson. This intriguing, moving, exciting, and contemplative work was performed in Queensland for the first time by Fusion.
