Holy Family Catholic Church, Indooroopilly
Since the beginning of time, mankind has rejoiced in the strong and powerful mother figure: “Mother Nature”, “the earth goddess”, and Cleopatra, to name a few. In this programme, we shone the spotlight on Mary the Madonna, the Mother of Christ, following her life from the Annunciation, through to the birth of Jesus, the presentation of Jesus at the temple, and the Crucifixion—the death of her son. Through settings of the Marian antiphons, we explore the figure of Mary as the mother of the Christ child through some of the titles given to her over the centuries, such as “Star of the Sea” and “Queen of Heaven”.
