Of Sacrifice
Saturday 9 March 2013
St Ignatius Catholic Church, Toowong
The music for this concert explores the theme of sacrifice through some of the darkest moments of human history, and asks us to consider the sacrifices some have made so that others – and sometimes ourselves – might live. A man who sacrificed his life, so that others may have eternal life. A king who lost his son to save his people. The animals that have been killed in the name of human greed. The sacred land and indigenous cultures that have been destroyed in the name of progress. With this programme we aim to take you on a journey which visits people's lives fractured by sorrow and heartache, through to the search for forgiveness, redemption and healing.
